Chinese Community Participating in Bite of L&I Event
On September 25,2018, our Greater Olympia area Chinese community, as in the last few years, participated in Bite of L&I, a very sought-after Combined Fund Drive (CFD) event organized by State Department of Labor & Industries. Led by Dr. Alex(Yuanlong) Ge, a veteran employee of L&I, more than 15 Chinese individuals and families contributed to the event this year. They selflessly donated and served a large variety of authentic Chinese food, raising more than $920 for the event. They also donated some food to the local food bank.
As a popular annual event, the goal of Bite of L & I is to celebrate the diversity of our state by highlighting food from different cultures and ethnicities, and help those in need. Therefore, the participation of our Chinese community in such event not only gave us a good opportunity to proudly display our cultural traditions and heritage, but also enhanced our public image as a giving and caring community.
Our sincere appreciation goes to everyone who contributed to this event: Yan Dai, Bing Xu, Hui Wang, Xiaomin Quan, Karen Tran, Muyan Lei, Qixuan Wang, Yan Xie, Haisheng Mou, Yiru Lien, Gang (Mark) Ma, Yiqun Xue, Yijun Liu, Yanxin Niu, Qiongfen Wu, Sally Yun Sun, Wenjuan Zhao, Rose Gundersen, Ruimin Tan, and Henry Cheng. Thank you all for making this event so meaningful and successful!
