Section 7.6 of OACA By-laws will be effective on Jul 1st

On June 10th, more than 90 people participated in the BBQ and Chinese school end year party hosted by Olympia Area Chinese Association.

51 members registered the vote of By-laws revision on Section #7.6.

7.6  The PRINCIPAL and VICE PRINCIPAL shall be appointed by the Executive Board and not be part of the Executive Board. The resignation request must be written and given to the Executive Board TWO (2) months before leaving the position so the board has time to find a replacement. Any member can apply for the principal or vice principal position. The application request for the principal position must be submitted in writing to the Executive Board. The board will make the final decision. The elected principal can appoint the vice principal and notify the board. In order for the school to provide the best service, the Executive Board can decide to terminate the PRINCIPAL based on the PRINCIPAL's performance. The Principal shall:

44 ballots were turned in. 44/51 => 86.2% valid ballots.
43 voted YES; => 97.7% YES.
1 voted NO; => 2.27% NO.

Based on the voting results above, the revision of the By-laws is passed and the new By-laws will be effective on Jul 1st, 2017. Both the former board and current board have affirmed that principal Mrs. Shyuelan Shyu has been doing a great job and contributing lots of her energy and efforts to our Chinese School.  The board would like to present a new appointment letter to her to replace the old one.
