OACA Parcitipated the Ethnic Celebration Event
On Mar 11th, Olympia Area Chinese Association (OACA) participated in the Ethnic Celebration event located at Saint Martin's University. This was a very good opportunity to introduce OACA and our Chinese School to the public.
This year, we provided 3 activities, like we did last year:
1. writing Chinese names with Chinese Calligraphy
2. chopsticks challenge of picking up differently shaped candy
3. stamping Chinese Zodiac signs on "passport" cards and name slips
Additionally, we added one more activity - learning and practicing to write Chinese number characters with brushes and water.
More than 260 people visited our booth to try the activities listed above. 212 people requested a Chinese Name this year. It beats our record.
9 volunteers/board members helped out OACA booth.
