2019 Chinese New Year Celebration Event- Year of the Pig
The 2019 Chinese New Year Celebration Event kicked off at 4pm on February 17th in Capital High School. This year, the planning committee brought a number of new ideas and features to the event and it proved to be very successful. The event attracted nearly 600 guests from the local and nearby areas. Delicious food, wonderful performance, along with many fun activities during the whole the event left unforgettable memories to all the audience.
OACA board members and volunteers arrived at 2 pm to prepare for the event!
The best ever list of raffle prizes include a Kayak, 50 inch smart TV, new generation IPad, and many more!
Plenty of home-made and ordered food for everyone!
For the first time, a fun and interactive photo booth operated by a professional, and a beautiful background wall for family photo-taking were brought to the event!

The auditorium was packed with nearly 600 guests.
The event hosts (Vivian Shen, Liu Yang, Emily Cheng, and Isaac Zhang) did an awesome job presenting the event in both English and Chinese!
OACA President Haisheng Mou and Vice President Alex (Yuanlong) Ge delivered the opening remarks to the audience!
Principal Shyu, Vice Principal Lu, and all the teachers (YanDai, Yuanxi Huang, Nikki Lu, Ivy Schwandt, Chunman Lai, Pei-Ching Hsu, I-ChunLu, Fengling Wang, Yan Xie) in Chinese School received recognition in the event.
The culture performance always started with the traditional lion dance!
Performance by Chinese school students was always the most popular part of the event!
