2019 Washington State Chinese and Talent Competition
The 2019 Washington State Chinese and Talent Competition was held on March 24th at Chief Sealth High School. The event attracted a great attention of students and parents in this region. The number of participants reached a record high this year, with a total of 585 contestants and 180 awards were given out in this fierce competition.
Led by principal Sheue-Lan Shyu, teachers and students from the Olympia Chinese School participated in five group and individual competitions and won a number of awards including: the first prize of the Chinese art talents, the third prize of the poetry recitation in the high school group, the second prize of class A,and the first place of class B in middle school individual public speech.
Thanks to the following individuals for their contributions to this event: our community's musician Xun Wang, vocalist Andi Wu and Yaya Wu who provided professional training for the musical theater "Han Hao Niao". As in the previous years, principal Shyu worked tirelessly to organize and train the participating teams, and to guide the students who participated in the poems and speeches this year. The parents of participating students also expressed their gratitude to the Olympia Chinese Church for providing the place for the practice.

由大中华基金会文化探索委员会、华州孔子学院、华州中文教师协会、州督学办世界语言公共教学办公室等单位联合组织的2019年华州中文及才艺竞赛于3月24日在Chief Sealth高中落幕，共有585名参赛选手参加了今年的中文才艺竞赛，180个奖项被领取。今年的华州中文及才艺大赛参赛人数多，竞争激烈，受到了广大学生和家长的关注。
徐雪兰校长带领中文学校的部分师生，参加了集体和个人五项比赛，获得高中组中文才艺一等奖、诗词朗诵三等奖以及初中组个人演说A类二等奖、初中组演说B类一等奖，成绩非常突出。我们社区的音乐专家王迅老师、声乐专家吴安迪和侯洛沁老师，为音乐剧《寒号鸟》提供了非常专业的训练；徐雪兰校长像往年一样，不辞辛苦，精心组织、训练参赛各队，尽心辅导诗词朗诵以及演说等参赛的同学们；奥林匹亚华人教会提供过练习场地；家长们对此表示衷心地感谢。
