OACA Joins Independence Day Parade to Celebrate and Share Chinese Culture

On July 4, 2025, the Olympia Area Chinese Association (OACA) organized a group of board members and volunteers to participate in the annual Independence Day Parade in the city of Tumwater.

Crowds lined the parade route, cheering and applauding as OACA’s contingent marched by. Dressed in coordinated outfits, participants proudly carried banners displaying the names of the Olympia Area Chinese Association and its affiliated Chinese school. With smiles and festive spirit, they waved to spectators and celebrated the holiday alongside the local community. The parade not only showcased the Chinese American community’s vibrant presence and engagement in public life, but also served as a meaningful opportunity to introduce the association and the school to the wider public. Many families expressed great interest in Chinese language education, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

This event strengthened the connection between the Chinese community and local residents while raising awareness of OACA’s mission and cultural outreach. Participants shared that it was an honor and a meaningful experience to represent the Chinese community on such a significant national holiday.

OACA remains committed to actively participating in local public events, promoting cross-cultural understanding, and serving the community. The association will continue working toward building a more inclusive and harmonious society.

2025年7月4日，奥林匹亚地区华人协会（OACA）组织理事成员与志愿者代表，参加了在Tumwater市举办的一年一度国庆节游行活动。

当天，游行路线两旁人头攒动，掌声和欢呼声不断。协会队伍身着统一服装，手举印有“奥林匹亚地区华人协会”和“中文学校”标识的横幅，踏着鼓乐的节奏，沿街与市民们热情互动，共同庆祝美国独立日。不仅展现出华人社群积极融入当地社区的风貌，也借此机会向公众宣传了协会和中文学校。许多家长和孩子对中文学习表现出浓厚兴趣，现场气氛热烈而友好。

此次活动不仅加深了协会与本地社区之间的联系，也提升了协会在公众中的可见度与影响力。参与活动的理事与志愿者表示，能够在这样一个重要节日中代表华人社区出现在游行队伍中，是一件非常光荣且有意义的事。
