OACA 2019 Alexander Shui-Sun Mar Scholar Award

Congratulations to the following students for receiving the

“2019 Alexander Shui-Sun Mar Scholar Award"！

Erik Ma, William Yu, Jamie Cherrett, Victoria Zhang, Izayah Qiu, Jack Mou, Yian Shao, Audrey Shen, Maegan Shen, Charles Gong, Elizabeth Shang, Joy Matsuoka, and Weiwei Chien

In the past two years, many students worked hard to learn Chinese at Olympia Chinese School and have achieved excellent results. At the same time, some students have actively joined the OACA volunteer team and contributed to the Chinese community and school. 

Among them: five students passed the STAMP test and were exempt from foreign languages study during high school; three students participated in the research and writing of the biography of Mr. Shui-Sun Mar, one of the former chairs of OACA; four students participated in researching and presenting on "Chinese Contribution to Washington State," winning praise from the community; four students joined the fundraising team for the Spring Festival Gala and raised over one thousand dollars in sponsorships.

          Considering the outstanding performance of these students, they were awarded the Alexander Shui-Sun Mar Scholar Award after discussion by the OACA Board. Congratulations!

在过去的两年里，许多同学在奥林匹亚中文学校努力学习中文，取得了优异成绩；同时还有一些学生积极加入OACA的志愿者队伍，为华人社区以及中文学校做出了贡献。其中：五位同学通过了华州STAMP测试，在高中期间可以免修外文；三位同学参与了OACA前会长《马瑞山先生传》的调研、编写工作，已取得很大进展；四位同学参与了协会组织的《华人对华盛顿州的贡献》的研究和演讲，获得了社区的好评；四位同学加入了协会2020春晚的募捐队伍，筹集到了赞助款千余美元。
鉴于这些优秀学生的杰出表现，经理事会讨论，授予上述同学2019年ALEXANDER SHUI-SUN MAR SCHOLAR AWARDS。
